Software QA Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Software QA Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of our WordPress and Joomla plugins, extensions, and templates.

You will work closely with developers and product managers to test features, identify issues, and improve the overall user experience before each release. This is an excellent opportunity for freshers who want to build a strong foundation in software quality assurance and CMS-based products.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual Testing: Test WordPress plugins/themes and Joomla extensions/templates across different browsers, devices, and screen resolutions.

• Test Documentation: Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and QA checklists based on product requirements.

• Bug Reporting: Identify, document, and track bugs clearly using tools like ClickUp. Work with developers to help reproduce issues.

• Regression Testing: Re-test existing features after bug fixes and updates to ensure nothing breaks.

• Compatibility Testing: Verify product compatibility with different versions of WordPress/Joomla, PHP, and hosting environments.

• Release Validation: Assist the QA team in validating builds before releases and report any critical issues.

• User-Focused Testing: Test products from an end-user perspective to identify usability and workflow issues.

Required Qualifications

• CMS Knowledge: Basic hands-on experience with WordPress or Joomla, including installing, configuring, and testing plugins or templates.

• Technical Basics: Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (ability to read and understand code, not write complex logic).

• QA Tools:

  • Familiarity with bug tracking or project management tools (ClickUp, Jira, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of API testing tools (Postman or similar)

  • Experience using browser developer tools (Chrome DevTools)

• Performance Awareness: Basic familiarity with tools like Google Lighthouse or GTmetrix.

• Mindset: Detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn. Enjoys finding bugs and improving product quality.

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)

• Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).

• Basic knowledge of Git or version control systems.

• Experience writing simple test scripts in JavaScript or PHP.

• Familiarity with WP-CLI or PHPUnit.
